Canine brucellosis is a bacterial infection caused by *Brucella canis*, primarily affecting dogs and other canids. This contagious disease is spread through direct contact with infected bodily fluids, especially reproductive secretions. Common symptoms include reproductive issues, such as infertility, abortions, stillbirths, and testicular inflammation in males. Although some dogs may not show symptoms, they can still transmit the infection. Brucellosis is zoonotic, meaning it can be transmitted to humans, although human cases are rare. Diagnosis involves blood testing, and while there’s no cure, managing the disease focuses on antibiotics and supportive care to control outbreaks.
